Is long-sighted is a disease?

Presbyopia is not a disease. It is a natural aging process of the eye that occurs in the early to mid-40s and above. Presbyopia is a condition where the eye muscles become weak, causing difficulty to focus on close objects. Symptoms of presbyopia include unable to read small texts, holding reading materials at arm’s length, blurry vision at normal reading distance and etc.

Presbyopia can be helped by using reading glasses, bifocal or multifocal glasses and also multifocal contact lenses.
